Since mid-September this year Sofia Airport will accept flights from Qatar Airways, said airport.
Qatar airline was launched in 2010 for third-best in the world, according to a survey of Skytrax, which included surveys of 18 million passengers.
The national carrier of Qatar will operate regular service from Doha to Sofia with flights 4 times a week – Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The airline will operate 144-seat Airbus 320, with two classes of travel.
According to Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Bakker ongoing expansion of the airline is focused “on what to serve strategic business and resorts worldwide, and markets with untapped potential by offering new direct services and capacity building in existing ones. ”
According to Assen Tanchev, Executive Director of Sofia Airport EAD, the new regular service will provide convenient connections for travelers not only to the Gulf region but also in other eastern areas.
