Campania region is an incomparable to any other region in Italy. The sea characterizes local traditions and way of life which generally include ancient Greek, Renaissance, middle ages, and super modern influences.

If you are searching for a good tourist destination in Europe, and have already decided to spend your vacation in Italy, check out the region west of Naples in Campania on the Tyrrhenian Sea. The place appears to be less crowded with tourists than most other areas of Italy and that includes eastern Campania too, particularly Sorrento and the Isle of Capri. Be sure not to miss Naples.

The Amalfi Coast is considered one of the most beautiful places on the planet and shouldn’t be missed. Paestum is a complex of untainted ancient Greek temples expecting you to explore them.

Capri is an island near the Sorrentine peninsula and a tourist popular destination. Basically Capri offers two cities to pay a visit to: Capri and Anacapri, in addition to the Grotta Azzurra or Blue Grotto. Capri can be reached by ferry and hydrofoil either from Naples or Sorrento. It is a charming island and a must-see site in southern Italy. Capri has captivated visitors for centuries, from the Romans to modern writers, artists, and tourists of course.

Sorrento is a scenic small town on the Amalfi Coast. Positioned on the train line which Sorrento is located on a tufa ridge some 13 miles to the south of Naples, on the southern edge of the Gulf of Naples. Sorrento boasts a mild and warm climate. The best time to visit the town is from May to September.

Sorrento is situated on the train line and together with its great number of hotels, holiday villas and apartments Sorrento offers good opportunities for exploring the Amalfi Coast and the nearby Bay of Naples sight-seeing attractions.

Benevento is a historic town and another must see attraction in the Campania region, which is located about 50km away from Naples.

Solfatara is a semiextinct volcano which last erupted at the end of the twelfth century AD. Its name comes from the Latin words sulpha terra meaning ‘land of sulphur’ in English. That clearly describes what you can expect to see there. It’s not a very pretty place, unless you are a volcano enthusiast and don’t mind to look at boiling mud.

Located south of Rome in the Campania region, Naples is the third largest city in the country and has a lot of places of interest and activities in store for the vacationer.
The large port of Naples is really grubby but has a number of worth seeing places while outside the port you can discover a huge selection of well-known attractions. These comprise the spectacular Amalfi Coast (a favorite place in Italy for many tourists), Pompeii and Herculaneum, Paestum, Capri Isle, Mount Vesuvius, and many many beaches.
